Bushnell Instant Replay 8×30

Bushnell Instant Replay 8×30 Binocular 5 MP Camera SD Slot 1.5

I have read some disparaging reviews of this product but I think that they are generally missing the point. There have been criticisms of both the binocular and the camera performance but you have to view this unit as what it is.

If you are, for example, a serious birdwatcher, you are likely to be considerably more for a pair of binoculars satisfy your needs. You will be looking at five times as much or even more. Similarly, if you want to take great wildlife pictures, you will need a digital SLR camera with a major telephoto lens attached and that is also going to make a big hole in your wallet. The Instant Replay is not intended to be a replacement for either of these.

The Bushnell Instant Replay 8×30 is a compact, pocket sized binocular that allows you to take snap shots of what you see. Looked at in those terms, it performs its task very competently. If what you are looking for is something light and compact, that you can carry with you to sporting and other outdoor events to record your memories, it will not disappoint.

The 8×30 binoculars do not compromise on Bushnell’s usual outstanding optical quality.

For a lightweight, compact unit, the performance is hard to beat. The built in camera has a 5 megapixel resolution; about as good as it gets for an integrated camera. It has a popup 1.5 inch LCD screen, 16 MB of built in memory, expandable using SD card and is controlled by an easily accessible 5 way keypad. You can also record short video clips.

This camera is capable of producing excellent quality images. You might require something better if you wish to print them at poster size, but for smaller prints and for digital display, I find them quite acceptable. The unit itself is light, attractive and sturdy, although not waterproof, since it is not designed for rugged outdoor use. After all, how many digital cameras operate well in the rain?

Considering that the Bushnell Instant Replay 8×30 is available for less than $175, I think it offers outstanding value in its class. For a small, compact and lightweight general purpose binocular, it is very worthy of consideration. Get more details and pricing through the link below.
